Southeast Asia Region
The IWG Southeast Asia Region is focused on enhancing the skill sets and building capacity of young public health professionals. The IWG SEAR team plans to do this by lending their unique insight into the numerous working groups of the IWG. The SEAR team is also planning on recruiting more members 2020 and 2021, and engaging with university students to increase awareness about the IWG.
Siddharth Srivastava is a steering committee representative for the South East Asia Region currently residing in India. He has a background in Medical Microbiology & Immunology and holds a first MSc in Infection and Immunity from University College London. Additionally, he has worked in the sphere of corporate communications, with social enterprises and NGOs; assisting in the management of CSR portfolios, research, targeted stakeholder engagement, photojournalism and in the development of brand positioning strategies. Siddharth is also a StartingBloc fellow and is currently pursuing Master in Public Health offered jointly by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Indian Institute of Health Management Research University, Jaipur. His current public health interests include Global health, Health Policy and Systems Research, M-health technologies, Scientific Communication and Implementation Science.
Rishabh Singh is a steering committee representative for the South-East Asia Region and is currently pursuing Master of Business Administration in Health and Hospital Management from Indian Institute of Health Management Research University, Jaipur in India. He has a strong interest in the domain of One Health, Health Equity and Environmental Health and believes in the multidisciplinary approach to tackle public health problems. He is also the Health System Strengthening Lead within the International Working Group and works closely with representatives of the various regions on public health challenges facing the world. He is an Engineer by training and also an educator involved in skilling and teaching thousands of students belonging to the marginalized section of the society every year. He is an avid reader and a budding author who is set to publish his first book on the issue of poverty, social exclusion and health system in India. He has deep interest in sociology and developmental economics and wishes to do his PhD in the interaction of these disciplines with the public health.
Pushpak Mahajan is a regional leader for the South-East Asia Region currently residing in India. He is a Dental Surgeon and currently pursuing MBA in Hospital and Health Management from IIHMR University, Jaipur. His interest areas include health systems strengthening, designing resilient health systems for universal health coverage, data science in healthcare, and global collaboration and information sharing.
Swati Singh is a regional committee representative of South East Asia Region, currently residing in India. She has a background in Dental Surgery and currently she is pursuing MBA in Health and Hospital Management from IIHMR University. Her interest lies in community health, health care administration, behavioral aspects towards health and implementation research
Utkarsha Telang is a regional leader for the South East Asia Region currently residing in India. She is a dental doctor and holds a degree in dental surgery. She is currently pursuing MBA in Health and Hospital management from Indian Institute of Health Management, Jaipur, India. Her areas of interest include global health, preventive medicine and health promotion, health policy and health services planning and management.
Satbir Kaur is a regional leader for the South-East Asia Region,currently residing in India. She is Medical Doctor with experience of working in a primary health care setup for and within the community in New delhi. Currently pursing Masters in public health from Indian Institute of Health Mangement Reseach Jaipur,India and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg school of Public Health. Her interests are Humanitarian work,Primary care health, community health, Mental and behavioural Sciences,Health promotion and communication towards communicable and non communicable diseases.
Sudipta Ghoshal is an active Regional commitee representative from the South East Asia Region who is also a post graduate student of Masters in Public Health under the collaborative program offered by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Indian Institute of Health Management and Research. She have her bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery and has worked as a Junior Resident Dental Surgeon for the past years. Currently she has been working on adolescent sexual and reproductive health in India. Along with having a deep knack towards biostatistics, she also has inclination towards mental health and aspires to pursue a PhD in this domain.
