About: Non-Profit charitable organisation based in Jodhpur working toward the development of Women and girls based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Sambhali Trust is committed to support those families by providing them food until the economic conditions are on track. We have done this through 3 months of lockdown distributing groceries in 12 villages about 100 km West of Jodhpur serving 566 badly affected families covering about 3000 km amid harsh weather conditions of the desert. This apart, 1143 other families were contacted for basic awareness about Covid-19 and distribution of soaps and masks considering their inaccessibility to the precautionary information. We are still serving 23 such families, both rural and urban, and would not hesitate to add more deserving ones.

About: The Auto for Impact Campaign is an initiative started by four recent college graduates in collaboration with Nanhi Kali to raise funds for the education of the underprivileged girl child. The campaign involves a rigorous 1700+ km, 10 day drive through the Western Ghats in an Auto Rickshaw. The charity drive is the first of its kind. The journey will be long, arduous and unpredictable, but the Nanhi Kalis deserve nothing less. COVID-19 threatens to undo 20 years of progress for girl child education. School closures caused by the pandemic are anticipated to further widen gender disparities in access to education, having a disproportionately negative impact on girls from disadvantaged families, and they might be compelled to drop out altogether even when the schools reopen. It is also anticipated to increase forced, early marriages among girls and heighten the risk of exploitation.
