About: AID has 36 chapters across the United States. The Association for India’s Development, Inc. (AID) is a secular charity organization which promotes “sustainable, equitable and just development. AID consists of a decentralized network of chapters which raise and utilize funds independently. There were 36 chapters in 2010 with a total volunteer strength of around 1000.The major activities of the U.S. chapters are raising funds, reviewing and supporting projects in India and informing and mobilizing their communities about important social and developmental issues in India. There were about 100 projects actively supported by AID chapters in 2010.

The George Institute for Global Health India

About: The George Institute was founded in Australia in 1999, It was formally established in Hyderabad, India in 2007. The George Institute is implementing the “Uddhanam C-19 home care” initiative, aimed at helping the rural susceptible population of Uddhanam region in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Their aim is to: 1) increase awareness of COVID-19 by setting up self help groups; 2) train frontline workers to offer home care; 3) provide home care kits; and 4) implement telecommunication service for prompt assistance. About: CARE International is based in Geneva, Switzerland In India, the basic agreement was first signed in New Delhi CARE has its presence across 19 Indian States. CARE has worked in India for 70 years to alleviate poverty and social exclusion. For the current COVID-19 response work in India, CARE is working towards 1) Improving the quality of care provided to critically ill COVID-19 patients and protecting healthcare workers from infection by setting up at least 30 COVID care centers in highly impacted areas of seven states. 2) Providing oxygen and other essential supplies to hospital partners. 3) Providing PPE and other clinical supplies to hospital partners. and 4) Supporting at least 10 state governments with vaccine rollout and training health workers to address concerns about vaccine stigma and distrust.
